A hacker who managed to compromise the admin wallet of the layer-2 blockchain protocol ZKSync, stealing approximately $5 million worth of ZK tokens during an airdrop, has recently returned the stolen funds. The return was made within the agreed "safe harbor" timeframe, with the hacker receiving a 10% bounty for cooperating with the ZKsync team.
The ZKsync Security Council is now in possession of the recovered tokens and is set to make decisions on their future.
